they used to ask me when I was a child

what do you want to be when you grow up
I’d close my eyes and imagine becoming

A teacher, a doctor or maybe an artist
At 15 I was so happy with my peers

Dreaming and planning like any other kid
Who will I be in the coming years

I opened my eyes to see a doctor next to me
Is my journey over? my parents were afraid

The story changed and Dareen grew up
Everything changed from innocent dreams

To real life where the truth is painful
I continued my life, I lost part of my body

The world judged me  and pointed at me
They thought I was from another planet

Suddenly my dreams and challenges were bigger than me

To be an inspiration and leave an imprint I put a smile on my face despite the tragedy
I didn’t let go of my dream, no giving up
And on one leg I will lift all these weights

Challenges make you strong

And give you meaning with every step you take
I rose again after being in denial

Stood up and dreamt and inspired many
I was able and did an effort to win

I was happy and celebrated even the small wins
So don’t be afraid no matter how big your difficulties in life

Everyone faces challenges
It makes us grow stronger and puts us on the right track

Although you will feel tired during the journey and think of giving up
but your dreams and ambition will help you stay strong

make you realize this is your calling this is your power in life

I will be an inspiration and leave an imprint
Forget the hard painful days and move on
I didn’t let go of my dream, no giving up
